Broken Projector

I was on this show talking about the Veronica Mars movie Kickstarter! I’m on the pro side — but not everyone is.

brokenprojector:

Vimeo has launched a new distribution channel for creators, and a major studio is using Kickstarter. It’s been quite a week for the future of film financing.

In this episode, we’ll talk with Vimeo VP for Creative Development Blake Whitman about Vimeo On Demand, and then Operation Kino co-hosts Matt Patches and Da7e Gonzales join us for a four-way conversation about whether Warner Bros. getting into the crowdfunding game with Veronica Mars is good, bad or ugly.

For more from us on a daily basis, follow the show (@brokenprojector), Geoff (@drgmlatulippe), Scott (@scottmbeggs), Patches (@misterpatches) and Da7e (@da7e) on the Twitter. And, as always, we welcome your feedback.

I was quoted in the trailer for Tim Heidecker’s new movie The Comedy, which is BRILLIANT. Please see it. I was not lying in the above quote.

Matt Patches, Hollywood.com’s movies editor, called “Bachelorette’s” success on iTunes and video-on-demand a victory for the film industry.
I’m an authority figure. ABC News interviews me on Bachelorette, VOD/iTunes releases and why the summer’s box office was lackluster.

Talking Comic-Con on CBS 55’s Live from the Couch. Katey Rich and I got back from San Diego approximately seven hours before this taped. Sleeeeepy.

Part II of my time on The Golden Briefcase. An in-depth discussion on The Coen Brothers’ A Serious Man.

Last night I appeared as a guest on the very popular Golden Briefcase podcast! You must listen. Here’s the description of the episode:
On this week’s episode of The Golden Briefcase, Tim & Jeremy are joined by guest Matt Patches of Hollywood.com and Operation Kino to chat about their latest Picks of the Week, the newest DVD & Blu-Ray releases, new trailers for for Pete Travis’ Dredd and Olivier Megaton’s sequel Taken 2 and much more. The main topic of the night was focused on the genre of black/dark comedies, in honor of Seth MacFarlane’s Ted, Some Guy Who Kills People and Klown all available soon. The guys go over what exactly defines dark comedies and if people are sick and twisted for not knowing when to draw the line and not laugh. Listen in!

I recently appeared on CBS 2’s Eye on New York to talk summer movies! I’m in full broadcast announcer mode.

Interviewed by ABCNews.com on the success of The Avengers and this summer’s “throwback” theme.

Marketplace Morning Report on NPR asked me to join them last week for a chat about the future of IMAX. Cool stuff!
